Ubuntu Cycling CIC is a UK-registered not-for-profit Community Interest Company limited by guarantee. The company is registered in England and Wales under company number 16660004. Its registered activity includes sports and recreation education.
Ubuntu’s resources are used to support community benefit through cycling, education, research, teacher development, youth opportunity and inclusive participation. As a Community Interest Company, Ubuntu is not established or conducted for private gain. Its assets and surpluses are protected for community benefit through the CIC asset lock.
Ubuntu works with schools, teachers, parents/carers, local partners and cycling organisations to support safe participation by children and young people. Activities involving children and young people are carried out with appropriate local supervision, consent, care and attention to wellbeing.
Ubuntu’s research and evaluation work is guided by consent, dignity, care, appropriate anonymisation, responsible image use and ethical treatment of participants. Where relevant, Ubuntu’s research practice is informed by recognised professional guidance, including the BERA Ethical Guidelines for Educational Research.
Ubuntu maintains financial controls and uses restricted grant funds only for the purposes agreed with funders and partners. The organisation keeps records of grant income, expenditure and project activity to support accountability and reporting.
